Long associated with its university, Morse fans will be more than familiar with the darker side of Oxford life, where homicide, corruption and vice run rife. You’ll be able take a closer look into Colin Dexter’s fascinating detective creation. Your two hour guided walk will take you around the old city of Oxford. You’ll get to see many of the places recognizable from the show including the Randolph Hotel and the White Horse pub, as well as Broad Street. Your knowledgeable Local Expert will provide intriguing anecdotes and commentary along the way. This evening come together with your fellow travelers, for a Welcome Dinner.

Today you will have the opportunity to spend the whole day at the Hampton Court Garden Festival. The world's largest flower show, this is surely to be an extraordinary experience for gardeners and garden lovers alike. Featuring show gardens, talks and demonstrations, floral marquees and a number of pavilions. Enjoy live music, garden inspiration for everyone from the classic gardener to those who enjoy something a bit more contemporary, and a wide variety of artisan shops selling all sorts of gifts.

Day Three: Downton Abbey
This morning, visit the beautiful village of Bampton in Oxfordshire, the setting for exterior village scenes in Downton Abbey. Experience The Church; see Matthew Crawley’s mother’s house, the hospital, and current people’s homes, which are transformed into the Post Office as well as various pubs. In the “hospital,” which is the public library, there is also the Vesey room where the Bampton Archive is housed, and various local exhibitions are set out. Leaving Bampton, we now head for Highclere Castle. Built by Sir Charles Berry who also built the Houses of Parliament, this is the country seat of the Earls of Carnarvon. The tour of the Castle’s public rooms includes the magnificent public main hall, the library and sitting rooms in addition to other rooms featured in the show. Why not spend some time enjoying the enjoying the parklands created by Lancelot “Capability” Brown who also designed the grounds of Blenheim Palace or indulge yourself with tea and cake at one of the tea rooms once you have finished touring the Castle.
Included Meal: Breakfast
Day Four: Blenheim Palace
Enjoy Blenheim Palace at your own pace today. Take your time touring the house and extensive gardens, do a little (or a lot) of shopping in the gift shop, all before enjoying afternoon tea in the Blenheim Palace Gardens. If you want to see a bit more of the palace and grounds, you have the option upon arrival to book a number of tours - Upstairs, Downstairs, the Churchill Trail, or try out the Marlborough Maze. The Maze is located in the Pleasure Gardens and is made of over two miles of yew trees! Later, return to Oxford, where you will join your fellow travelers for dinner.

If you want to get outside and enjoy watching the pelicans in St. James Park, the Rubens can, upon request, prepare a picnic feast for you to take along in a wicker basket.
