Spotlight on Six Senses Yao Noi
The Six Senses Yao Noi is situated on a small island in Phang Nga Bay, Thailand. The area is known as Phuket and the very name itself brings to mind some of the most exclusive and luxurious hotels in the world. The glittering turquoise waters and limestone karsts of Phang Nga bay are what dreams are made of, and gazing out across these water from your secluded villa at Six Senses will leave you wondering if there is ever anywhere else you'd rather be.
Butterflies fill the air as they flutter through the gardens around you and the resort offers so shortage of amenities to satisfy your every whim. You can take a bike, kayak, or a chartered boat to explore the local villages and remote beaches or spend the morning learning Muay Thai - a popular Thai style of kickboxing . There is, of course, a luxurious spa that offers a wide range of traditional Thai spa experiences and even features visiting specialists in a variety of holistic Thai healing methods.
The friendly staff and personal butlers can arrange anything you could want during your stay. A particularly romantic option for dinner includes transfer to a separate, even more private island, for dinner on the beach lovingly prepared by your own personal chef for the evening. The beach around you lit by candlelight and a meal prepared from the freshest local produce available - sounds just about perfect. As you sit and watch the stars twinkle in the sky above the bay, pause and reflect on the paradise around you - and you are sure to return!
How to Get There: Fly in the Phuket International Airport (HKT) and the hotel's speedboat will pick you up in Ao Po Grand Marina (the superyacht marina known as the gateway to Phang Nga Bay) and take you right to the hotel. The trip takes about 45 minutes.
When to go: The most popular time of year is December through March due to warm temperatures, low rainfall, and the water is very calm. Prices during this time of year are, as is to be expected, very high. To save on the cost of accommodation, try visiting during the shoulder season - April May, August and November. It will still likely rain, although not quite the massive downpours of the rainy season.
Travel Tip: Truly arrive in style and have the helicopter pick you up from the Phuket airport. The views of Phang Nga bay are truly spectacular and are sure to be a gorgeous and unique way to start your vacation!
